My Own Perfect Belt

I love my new Water Gym belt. I no longer have to worry about finding a belt that fits me at my aqua jog class because now I have my own belt and it fits perfect! The slim shape is comfortable and stays in place.

I have been in a deep water aerobics class for over a year and have tried all their free belts. Everyone "fights" over the two watergymns, so I decided to just buy my own. What a treat!

I've been using the Water Gym belt in water aerobics classes for the past 5 years -- and finally decided to purchase one of my own. No more needing to readjust the belt each time -- and I know I can replace the elastic when I need to, not waiting as long at the club does. I love the new colors (so mine is different from the ones at the club) - The belt is comfortable and stays in place. I plan to take it to the lake this summer, so I can continue my workouts there -- (and wear when I'm in the water with young grandchildren -- so I can stay buoyant and keep my eyes on them).

I purchased this hoping it would be more comfortable to exercise in than the complementary float belts provided by our local recreation organization. The first time I used it in the pool I noticed a huge difference. It fits great, the foam is soft, and the size was perfect for me. I sent in my waist measurement along with my order. I use it three days a week for a deep water aerobics class. Shipping was super fast too!

We use these belts often and they last for a long time and float very well. We used to use 2 medium belts for people who are scared or sink more but these belts float them well with just one!

Pros
1.Very High quality hardware: belt buckle and slightly elastic belt webbing
2. Very comfortable and compact. This probably the most comfortable flotation belt I have ever used for water jogging.
3. High quality foam and surface foam encasing
4. Available in a variety of colors; especially nice that it is available in a bright, safety pink color.

Cons:
1. Flotation belt does not come with a belt triglide slide to handle leftover/excess belt length after tightening.
I had to add one from my hardware stash. I got my belt/webbing triglide slides from REI.
2. Not sure how resilient the elastic material in the belt is relative to pool chlorine exposure. That is, the belt may be more susceptible to quicker breakdown due to chlorine exposure over the long haul compared to a tradition "static" belt material. But this is just speculation at this point.

3. The flotation foam does not appear to be as durable as other cheaper, harder closed-cell foam.
This is the only reason I give the belt a four-star rating.
While this is not a deal breaker, if you are hard on your equipment or don't have the time to properly store/minimize UV exposure, you might consider getting a less expensive flotation belt with a more durable floating material. I mention this, because as someone doing comprehensive run/bike/swim workouts, I'm used to just throwing gear in the front seat of the car and letting it sit/store there. Items are knocked about and exposed to sun. With my WaterGym belt, I make an extra effort to wrap the belt in a towel and store it in the back seat way from front-seat traffic. Just a thought.
FYI: The flotation belt ships with an instruction manual that explains how to repair any punctures to the foam.

Conclusion:
Overall, I really like the flotation belt and supporting a made-in-the-USA product. With proper care, I look forward to years of water work with it.

I do deep water fitness 3 day a week. This belt is so much better than other brands. Stays in place and does not move up like other brands.

This is my 2nd one after the first woreout from teaching water exercise 3 times a week for 6 years! Have tried other brands and none compare with Water Gym! Only one problem/caution be careful with the belt mine wore out early on but I replaced with a belt from old water ski belt and wrored fine! Just be sure to wash after use and don't store in hot or cold environments.
