HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE
WaterGym® Water Flotation Belt

Our WATERGYM BELT comes in TWO sizes:
PLEASE NOTE: The black elastic strap that weaves through the blue foam on BOTH SIZES is 50 inches long (127 cm).
The only difference between sizes is the length/width of the blue foam.

SMALL: Fits waist sizes 26 to 38 inches (66-92 cm)
BLUE FOAM: Approx. 28-30" long/ 5 1/2" to 5 3/4" wide (Can vary! See below)
If your waist is 34 inches (84 cm) or less, you MUST wear a SMALL If you're short waisted, or your waist is smaller than 26 inches, give us a call so we can hand pick a smaller belt for you.

MEDIUM / LARGE: Fits waist sizes 34 to 50 inches (84-127 cm)
BLUE FOAM: Approx. 33-35" long / 5 1/2" to 6" wide (Can vary! See below)
If your waist is above 50 inches (127 cm) see #3 below
MEN ALMOST ALWAYS NEED THIS SIZE (see #4 below)
1. Your belt sizes may vary an inch or two. Please explain...
Our belts may (not always) vary an inch or two in length and slightly in width. These slight variations are due to our unique custom molding process. During production, liquid foam is poured into a mold a fraction of the actual size of the belt. These little "mini belts" are pressed, then removed and baked. While baking, the belt expands and rises to full size (like baking bread!) and develops a smooth natural skin. These variations are too slight to affect the function of the belt, but some folks prefer an exact size.
IF YOU'VE ALREADY PURCHASED OUR BELT AND WANT ANOTHER BELT THE EXACT SIZE, please do the following:
1) Measure the belt you already have carefully by laying it LOGO SIDE DOWN on a flat table. Stretch it fully flat. Measure the length & width.
2) Then call us to place your order using these measurements so we can find another belt the same size. Call Toll free: 888-928-3749.
2. My waist is between the two sizes. What do you suggest? If your waist is from 34 to 36 inches (84-93 cm), you may choose either the SMALL or MEDIUM/LARGE belt. The black strap that weaves through the belt is 50 inches (127 cm) on both belts, so base your decision upon your buoyancy needs and how far you want the blue foam to wrap around your waist. Here are guidelines to help you choose:
Choose SMALL if you:
Prefer LESS foam and a more streamlined look and feel
Want a streamlined, thinner look and feel to your waistline
Are comfortable with the blue foam wrapping partially around your waist
Like the feeling of freedom
Choose MEDIUM / LARGE if you:
Prefer MORE foam
Prefer the blue foam to wrap further around your waist
Prefer the greater sense of security more foam provides
Are a sinker (athletic, lean, not much body fat) & need extra flotation
3. My waist is over 50 inches. (127 cm) Can I still use the WaterGym® Belt?
Yes! Choose the MEDIUM/LARGE belt and purchase an additional 50-inch (127 cm) black elastic strap (click here). Simply clasp your two straps together and weave them through the blue foam. Your belt now extends up to 100 inches. (254 cm)
4. As a man which belt should I choose?
MOST MEN NEED THE MEDIUM/LARGE because it has more flotation than the SMALL. Men tend to "sink" more than women, due to their body fat to lean muscle ratio. Exception: You might require a SMALL if your waist is 30 inches (81 cm) or less, if your height is 5'5 (167 cm) or less and are quite lean. PLEASE MEASURE YOUR WAIST WITH A TAPE MEASURE. Your "pant size" is NOT your waist measurement and can be off by 4 or 5 inches.
5. What is the "weight limit" to the WaterGym® Belt?
There is no weight limit because your weight in water is different than on land. While suspended, you only weigh about 10% of your actual body weight. Therefore the amount of flotation you need depends on how buoyant your body is in water, which is primarily determined by your body composition, specifically your lean mass to body fat ratio. You may be a:
"sinker" (higher ratio of lean mass to body fat- requiring more flotation)
"floater" (higher ratio of body fat to lean mass- requiring less flotation)
neutrally buoyant (balanced)
6. How do I know your WaterGym® Belt will float me?
As you see from the previous question, it's impossible for us to know if our belt will float you. GOOD NEWS! We get close to no returns, as our belt floats most everyone. Try it and return it if youre not completely happy.
7. What if I choose the wrong size? May I exchange my belt?
Yes! Make sure to call us if you need help in choosing your perfect size belt. If you do purchase the wrong size, simply follow the easy return instructions that come along with your belt. There will be a shipping charge for us to mail another belt back to you, so please choose your sizing carefully.
